HP 15C Calculator App Reviews

I put the date I purchased it here since I know there must be a lot of versions. I have tried every RPN calculator out there. I like this one the best. The horizontal is a perfect rendition of the classic calculator. In Vertical the choices were made perfectly. A reciprocal key and a square root key are the only functions. Both of these are handy for quick calculations I make in vertical mode. Also the keyboard area is not cluttered with ads or even settings. To change the FIX for digits you must go horizontal. The elegance and simplicity are ideal.

Ive tried several of these by different developers. This is by far the best one. It works exactly like my 15c. Well worth the money. Im using it on an iPhone 6 Plus. The graphics are beautiful. I turned off the clicking sound.

Great reproduction of the classic! Works great in the iPhone 6. Im an electrical engineer who still depends on my 15c. Main complaint is the very loud clicks for the buttons which is very annoying, especially since there is no way to disable or lower its volume from within the ap. Turning off the ringer on the side of the iPhone to disable sound works but is unacceptable. Hopefully HP will fix this soon - especially if enough of us complain. However, the calculating capabilities work exactly as the original.

Work-around for iOS9 glitch. This affects both the HP 12C and HP 15C emulators. The problem: When upgrading from iOS8 to iOS9, the "rotating" feature of both apps is no longer supported. Symptom: With default settings, both emulators are locked in "portrait" mode, which produces the "four function calculator" that others have complained about. The fix: Go to iPhone "Settings" and look for the HP 12C or HP 15C. Default settings include "Landscape Lock" set to ON. Set "Landscape Lock" to OFF. This will restore full functionality of the HP 12C and HP 15C calculators. Unintended consequence of this fix: Loss of the "four function calculator" that HP provided for portrait mode.

I loved my old HP 15C and I love this app!!!

Needs an update to support retina graphics on iPad and to support the new iPhone 5 display. Also needs to have an adjustable key click volume. For the price of the app, HP should release more frequent updates. Edit: HP seems to have abandoned this app ☹️ even though HP has continued to sell it
