HP 15C Calculator App Reviews

66 add

Good, but ...

... should be updated soon. From time to time I see a warning regarding the lack of 64 bit support of. Also the screen size doesnt fit on modern iPhones like 6/6s.

Android版より安定

Android版は積分で死ぬので直して下さい iPhone版は問題ありません

No degrees mode? Really?

The trig functions SIN/COS/TAN and their inverses are stuck in radians mode. Set g DEG mode, and the angles still are measured in radians. Not only that, the polar-rectangular conversion buttons do nothing! Aaaaarghh!

Requires Update

I like this application, but my iPhone is generating a message that reads that the app can have a negative impact on the performance of the phone unless it is updated.

Matrices dont work under IOS 9...

...this was a great app but now only partially functions, very sad.

Nice but update needed

Apple warns that this app is slowing down our iPhones and needs an update. Its been 4 years and needs software updates. Please HP! Thanks then more stars.

Programming broken

If you need programming dont buy this app. Programming doesnt work on latest iOS. The developer has not updated since 2012!

OK app. But pricey. Needs polishing.

HP update this app for screen size and key size, fix the sound of the buttons! Im still waiting for HP to fix this app and it will become my first choice calc. for now its in a folder on page 7. Ive never had a calculator that sounds like this when I press a key. HP this is stupid. Fix the click. Dont buy this until its updated. The sound of the keys is an obnoxious clunk and the volume is only controlled by the master volume. I wish it was controllable without turning down the volume of my ringer and other apps and a more subtle "click" It seems like the "target" area for the buttons (iPhone) is a bit small. I miss the buttons with this app more often than with others calculator apps. Its very close to being great, but these small items keep me from wanting to use it. I cant afford mistakes from missing buttons in my job. Having invested $15, I hope HP is responsive and fixes these items. Until then I have a better, less expensive 48sx emulator with bigger buttons and a viewable stack.

2 serious flaws

This version 1.1 1. Key clicks are deafening. 2. No Copy/Paste. These are easy things to fix as there are existing APIs to simply solve the problem. Yes, you can turn off the key clicks in app. But then you have no app feedback. You can also turn the iPhone system sound down but, if you forget to adjust your system sound after using the calculator you may miss a call. Plus, if you use your calculator like I do, you will be adjusting your sound many times a day. To HP: just let the user adjust the sound * in app * and maybe pick from a dozen key click sounds. The app key clicks are TOO LOUD! No Copy/Paste? Its standard on every platform and blatantly missing here. It should include [Copy, Paste, Copy x&y, Copy stack]. Please think to make it ready to paste in a portable spread sheet. A 3rd serious flaw is not including the manual. Im familiar with the 15c but, others may not be. The original manual is rich with content and will more than justify the price. I purchased the HP 15c app because its a marvelous calculator -- I still own and use the real original. The app though needs improvement, and HP has been slow to react.

HP 15C

I have downloaded the HP15C to realize that what I got does not match the description at the App Store. I was looking for a complete scientific calculator but I have ended up with a mere, simple and, compared to what I wanted, useless calculator.

Business

Just what I needed and works like the real one. But how is it possible to change the decimal point to a comma, since the ON button is not available?

Mr. bones

none of the functions beyond basic math work on my ipad please fix it HP?

Rip off

Its not what is being represented none of the functions are even there.... Its so bad......

Retired Old User

Before buying check the web for more credible reviews, I found lots. RPN is really addictive after using it and although I dont crank out the math I used to this app feels just like an old friend reincarnate. Still have my original calculator with the instructions which should work fine with this app. I love it. Paid a lot of money for the original calc and more for the plug in chips. In 2014 dollars this costs squat! One wish, let me paste in numbers Ive copied from other sources. Its not original but this is the computer age.

Programming problems

Entered 122 lines into programming triangle solutions to find that f ISG looping will not program. No SN or Product Number for the App so no access to technical or product support assistance. Pay your money and no support to back it up. Loved my 11c & 15c, for more than 25 years, buy an app and... Well times have changed. Additionally, repeated attempts to report the problem through iTunes Store have failed. Will not accept a report of a problem but will be happy to accept a review. HP sells apps for iPhones but their troubleshooting capability is tied to windows!!! Update: many months later... Nothing from HP. NO CHANGE, no progress, no fix, no attention, no regard for the quality of the product they took my money for. NEXT MESSAGE GOES TO APPLE. BOGUS PRODUCT.

Perhaps the best of the 15c clones

This hasnt been updated in ages but it remains a great 15c calculator. The best RPN calculator Of the dozens Ive tried. Ive used it for years on my iPads and iPhones, up to iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2. Havent encountered any issues, but obviously it is very difficult to exercise the majority of the features this has. It has a great built in user manual which obviously helps with some of the more advanced functionality, but if you are familiar with RPN its more nascent features are intuitive. I havent given it 5 stars as it hasnt been optimized for the different aspect ratios of the newer iPhones. Doesnt affect functionality, though. The default key click sound can be turned off in the iOS Settings; some people wont know to do that and can be put off by the clicks.

Perfect now!

Thanks, HP, for fixing the two issues another user reported! This is fantastic! My actual 15C I use almost every day, despite it being almost 30 years old. This app brings a smile to my face every time I open it.

Cant turn off button sound

This version is an improvement! The keyboard is correct, and the manual works, but you still cant mute the incredibly loud button sounds. This makes it difficult to use in meeting, and frankly gets annoying with prolonged use at any time. Come on, HP fix this issue get 2 more stars!!

Version number still wrong

The manual now works! Great! But the version number is still wrong (Settings->HP15C->About->v1.1) For some reason, I dont have the button sound problem Benjamin mentions -- turning the sound on & off works as expected. (iPod Touch 4th gen, iOS 5.1)

Perfect! v2.0.1

I dont have the key click sound issue reported by other user (my device is iPhone 4, iOS 5.1). Settings work perfectly, turning sound on and off as it should be. The version number is wrong as usernickname mentions, still showing v1.1 in about. The manual is working now, but it could be better if we had a search tool to locate subjects through a key word as we can do by reading in pdf files. Despite those points I mentioned above, for me the app as is deserves the 5 stars. I have an old real 11C calculator that has more than 30 years old, still working fine, and my only complaint was that it could not be with me all the time. Now, this problem was solved with this 15C version in my iPhone and I am very happy. Thank you so much!
